I clean my car regularly and detail it from the inside using Meguiars Detail Finish and paper napkins. It seems to work very well and the dust comes off quick, yet after a couple of days the dust is already back on the panel and its seems as though i can’t permanently get rid of it. I vacuum the car as well, so there shouldnt be this horrible amount of dust in it, but the panel is black and when dust lands on it its very visible – very upsetting when you take so much time out as i do to make sure the car looks flawless all the time.
Is there any other way i could trap the dust that has apparently collected in the car? Wiping it of doesnt work as it comes right back out as soon as i open and close the doors a couple of times or drive around.
Also, what would be a good way to clean car seats? they are cloth yet i don’t want to do the whole steamcleaning business, is there any other way to clean upholstery of a car?
You’ll never eliminate dust. It’s everywhere. I use Swiffer sheets. It works really well.
I’m not sure about cleaning the upholstery.

The seats are full of dust, the highways are full of dust, etc., so it is not likely you will ever get rid of it. But you could vacuum the seats, just like you vacuum a furnace air filter. It might help. If you have a small rust hole in a well well that will let in a huge amount of dust. You can put caulking or foam in the crack, especially if there are holes in the trunk. Ever consider just making a felt cover for the dash panel?
