I clean my car regularly and detail it from the inside using Meguiars Detail Finish and paper napkins. It seems to work very well and the dust comes off quick, yet after a couple of days the dust is already back on the panel and its seems as though i can’t permanently get rid of it. I vacuum the car as well, so there shouldnt be this horrible amount of dust in it, but the panel is black and when dust lands on it its very visible – very upsetting when you take so much time out as i do to make sure the car looks flawless all the time.

Is there any other way i could trap the dust that has apparently collected in the car? Wiping it of doesnt work as it comes right back out as soon as i open and close the doors a couple of times or drive around.

Also, what would be a good way to clean car seats? they are cloth yet i don’t want to do the whole steamcleaning business, is there any other way to clean upholstery of a car?

I get all the pebbles and stuff out with a vacuum, but after that I open all the doors and point the leave blower into the car. It gets dust and dirt out of places the vacuum cant get like under the seats and next to the seats where its up against the center council. Its also much quicker then running a vacuum over every section. It seems to do a lot better job then vacuuming alone.

hey i was test driving a 96 mustang gt that my girlfriend wants to buy and it’s only got 65k miles and is owned by the original owner who is in his late 50’s.

everything seemeed awesome except that when i started the car it made a really loud noise comparable to a vacuum cleaner for about 5 or 6 seconds.

he wants 00 for the car but i’m gonna tell him ill only give him 3,300 for the car with that noise

but i need to make sure at first what the hell it is and if it’s an expensive fix.

anyone know what it could be?

I went to an express car wash that is not completely automated – first, I would drive up the lane and 2 employees use the sponge on a stick to soap up the car. Then I drive onto the conveyor, which takes the car through the tunnel for the machine to clean, rinse and dry.

After I drove through the car wash, I stopped by the vacuum machines to clean the inside of my car. When I got out to inspect whether the car was clean, I saw that the red plastic covering on my third rear brake light (near the top of back window) was missing. I immediately notified one of the employees and she went around the premises to look for the missing piece with me. We were unable to find it then. But I was 100% sure that the light cover was there when I drove to the car wash, so I went to search one more time by myself. I found 2 pieces of the broken plastic covering inside the tunnel on the side near the exit, and the middle piece was missing. Kinda like this : <=/ /==>

I talked to the manager there, and he filled out an incident report. He took some pictures of the car and broken pieces that I retrieved. He told me to get an estimate and then to get back with him. I called the dealership, and found out that the plastic covering part alone was about 5, and the labor for installing it was going to be around 0. I faxed the manager the estimate and he said they will contact me in a few days. The thing is, my car’s warranty expired only 2 months ago and I don’t want to pay more than 0 out of my pocket.

What do you think I should do now?
The car is Mini Cooper, and there are no screws used. I as told it requires 2-3 hrs process with special heating tools.

I am thinking about getting a rechargeable dustbuster for cleaning out my car. I understand it has an 11 minute battery life. Is this true and is this long enough to get a car clean?

Please only answer this question if you have experience with cleaning out a car using a rechargeable dustbuster vacuum.

Also please let me know if you have a brand or model you would like to recommend.
Or if you use one regularly to clean in your home.
I already have something to plug into an outlet. I am just wondering about the rechargeable ones bc it is a royal pain to get the junk out to my car. and get it clean.

Jiffy Lube wants to charge me 39.99 plus tax to do an oil change, vacuum my already clean car, and top off my already topped off fluids. Its a used car I just bought — 2005 Nissan Sentra

If I raise my car, is an oil change as simple as
1. unscrew a bolt
2. Let the oil drip
3. tighten the bolt
4. unscrew the oil filter
5. attach the new oil filter
6 add more oil

Thats what my friend told me.
Is this right? Or can I mess up somewhere?

Okay so I decided I wanted to get my car vacuumed, mats and upholstery washed and cleaned, and dashboard/etc wiped down. So I called a car wash and they would charge 0 bucks to do that. It seems steep to me, so I get to wondering, are there products I could buy to do it myself? I know there are armoral wipes for your dashboard and I can vacuum it out at one of those quarter machines by the DIY car washes, but what about washing the upholstery/carpet? Any way to do this myself? Looking for specific products and tools to use and where I can buy these.

I’ve been having some problems with it stalling at lights, or first turning on, or even just starting to move after a stop. My car has a total loss of power and a hesitation to accelerate. the best way it seems to keep it from stalling when I first start is to hold my foot on the accelerator at 2000rpms for a couple seconds and let it idle down. It also idles a little rough. Likely to be a vacuum leak? Ignition coil, oil sending unit, and fuel filter have been replaced. and my throttle body has been cleaned.

And no matter what i do, i can’t find it! I cleaned the inside of my car and vacuumed it several times but it is still in there somewhere. I know this because i have webs on the windshield every morning when i get in the car!!
How can i get rid of him?

I believe it is important that if women have their own car that they need to keep it clean. I remember one time going out with my girlfriend and she wanted me to drive her car because my a/c was broke and she didn’t want to get hot (which ofcourse was fine with me because I believe women should be protected from the elements if at all possible). Anyways, as I got in the car we were supposed to go somewhere fun but instead I drove right to the car wash to clean out her car. I told her that she didn’t need to be driving around in a dirty car. It had some fast food bags in it and some napkins, some clothes and a few other things not to mention it needed vacuuming. After throwing out the garbage, vacuuming, and cleaning the windows, I told her this is how I expect it to look from now on, or else she would be trouble. If we were engaged I would have taken away her driving priveleges but instead I just told her she would get disciplined. She gave me a kiss on my cheek and thanked me

Fuel pump, screen, and fuel filter have been replaced. Fuel pressure regulator is fine (removed the vacuum hose and no fuel leaked out). Suggestions for next step?

dashboard with spray and cloth.When I wanted to start the engine, it just didn’t, I tried with lead jump, and nothing. The battery is ok, the engine get a good kisk but when I let go the car key the engine goes flat at the same time. What happened?

Why is it that every single car I have had the carpet is like velcro, everything sticks to it.

When you vacuum it nothing shifts, you cant clean near the handbrake.

I think they should invent car carpets that lift right out do you?

It really sucks. I know there are adults out there that have lost their jobs, and have families that need to pay the bills, but how are teenagers supose to pay for their future, like college, cars, and such? I’m not trying to sound selfish, but we can’t get a job anywhere. Even the movie theaters. Or Mcdonalds for that matter…

Last Friday I noticed ants, hundreds of them, running along the door jam and bottom of the door on the passenger side of my car. I figured in the rains a hill must have gone up under the car. I sprayed w/ant spray, let it sit for about 20 mins, then brought the car to the car wash, told them about the problem. They vacuumed, washed, etc. I thought that was the end.

This week I was seeing one or two here and there, but figured it was the more robust ones. I killed each one I saw. Today, there are hundreds again, now on the driver side. I can see them going toward the hinges of the door, but I can’t see anything there. My car is kept clean – however it looks like they’re feasting on something now. They’re not so much in the interior as the perimeter – around the doors and side mirrors.

Any clue as to how to deal with this?
btw, this isn’t caused by food – no one eats in my car. also, most of the ants aren’t in the interior, but in the door area.

I just want her to wash the outside of my car and dry it. maybe vacuum inside too and pick up trash. windex windows and clean off vinyl.

Hey everyone, I have been a long time reader and a first time contributor.

Anyway, recently I have noticed that my car has begun to increase in the number of spider in/on it. The spiders are white, and clear-ish, the term albino spider has come up, but I am not entirely sure. I live in Toronto.

At first they were two, one big one small, outside and inside my car. Now they are increasing in number, running up to 5 at a time. They have been usually only coming out at night. I have been constantly killing them.

On the 3rd day of the spider appearances, I have done an interior cleaning of the car (vacuum, taking everything out, running the HVAC system at full, and opening the hood and checking the engine for egg sacs with a flash light). I found nothing and right when it became dark outside, 5 of them came out from cracks I have already cleaned.

I always park in a condominium garage but there has been spider activity around a light near my parking spot. I have called management and they told me they took care of it. One guess is that they have come into my car from the parking spot area, but the superintendent dismissed the idea.

I have not used the car in 4 days, but I came down to check my spot today (7 days total since this all began). Yes, the spider webbing and etc around my parking spot has been cleaned. BUT, when I came to the car itself, it has only become worse. With one quick glance I counted 4 spiders and one egg sac in my side mirror. Note that I came down at 6pm this time, and not at night!

What I’m trying to ask is if anyone knows of what is happening to my car (could it be a possible nesting of spiders) and if there are any solutions that you can suggest? The term fogger has come up, but I am not sure where to buy it. I have been to a local Wal-Mart, but they didn’t have it. If you have any information on foggers and its effectiveness in the car, please let me know! I don’t want to call an exterminator just yet because they are expensive and I want to try and fix this problem with as little money as possible.

my place is small, no room for big ones. i need the smallest kind that does the job, and cheap too
